„W(H)ATT IF?” ... car parks become urban batteries?
In times of increasing urbanisation and a progressive mobility transition, infrastructure buildings such as multi-storey car parks must adopt new usage concepts. The vision of the city battery transforms former multi-storey car parks into sustainable energy centres that can absorb, store and release green energy. A new shell with social uses turns these buildings into lively places for social interaction and recharges the “social battery”. Car parks thus become multifunctional energy centres that strengthen the energy network and promote social interaction.
